EAT SMART GRANT: We have been awarded the Eat Smart grant for 2013. Our program will be incorporating more nutritious choices for meals and snacks along with family meal style setting during meal times.
TAKING STEPS TO HEALTHY SUCCESS: We have enrolled in this new grant opportunity with Learning Collaborative. This oportunity accentuates the Eat Smart program by providing resources and education that supports healthier environments for children, their families, and staff.
Where Families Grow participates in the USDA Child and Adult Food Program. This program reimburses the center for a portion of the expense to provide the children in our care nutritional meals and snacks.
By contracting with this program, parents can be assured their child will receive balanced meals that are in accordance with the USDA Food Pyramid Guidelines.
By contracting with the USDA, it also assures parents that our program is routinely monitored for complying with nutrition requirements.
We provide breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. For infants, we provide Sam's Club Members Mark formula, baby cereal, and baby foods. We make all of our baby foods and cereals to ensure the highest nutrients for our babies. Parents may opt to provide their own brand of formula. We will collaborate with parents when infants begin transitioning to table foods.
We also have experience with food allergies and are willing to substitute any items that a child is allergic to. The food program does require a doctor's written statement concerning the allergy and suggested substitution items.
We also offer breakfast for our parents on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in our family room.

Classrooms have meal guidelines posted if you would like to review the current nutritional requirements for meals and snacks for your child's age group.
